2019 Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Competition Team Announced

The Australian national meat judging team was announced last week, and five of the best students are all set to represent Australian on a USA tour in January 2019.

The national representatives for this year will be Jess Davis (University of Queensland), Nikita Ellison (University of Queensland), Lauren Smith (Murdoch University), Felicity Brumpton (University of New England) and Jessie Phillips (Charles Sturt University). This team of five were chosen after making it to the top 10 in the ‘Senior Competition’, which was held earlier this year at our processing facility in Wagga.

The Intercollegiate Meat Judging Competition has been around for 30 years, and the program has played a huge role in the development of over 3000 meat and livestock industry professionals (so far).

The month-long US trip will provide these 5 students with the chance to develop insights surrounding one of Australia major trading partners in the meat industry.

Congratulations to all 5 students!
