Cattle Council to Receive $1.9m from MLA – Aim Is to Upskill Producer Leadership

Cattle Council of Australia

On the 15th of August, the Cattle Council of Australia and Meat & Livestock Australia finalised a new two-year project. This project will see the peak industry council receive $1.9m in levy funding from MLA to conduct specific project work that is specifically focussed on developing the leadership skills of grass fed producers.

The existing two-year SLA is due to expire this month. According to MLA, the $1.9m Building Capacity in the Grass Fed Beef Industry project will offer “a suite of professional development initiative for current and aspiring industry leaders that will be delivered through the CCA, on behalf of MLA, over the next two years”.

This funding will contribute to the achievement of two priorities that are high in the meat industry’s strategic plan – building leadership capability and protecting and promoting our industry.
