Teys Australia’s Glen Poole had the honour of presenting two well-known commercial cattle breeders with top honours at the 2018 inaugural Limousin Blockbuster Hoof and Hook Competition. The winning breeders were the Thompson Brothers (brother Midge Thompson was in attendance) and Dennis Peters.
The grand champion export class beef carcase was awarded to the Thompson Brothers (Narango) for their steer entry Lot 88 – a milk-tooth with a beef carcase weight of 321.8 kilograms, 9 mms of fat and an eye muscle area of 92 cm sq.
The grand champion domestic trade carcase winner was Dennis Peters (Paradise Creek Pastoral Co.) with his milk-tooth steer carcase that weighed 224.2kgs, with 5mm of rib fat and an eye muscle area of 68cm sq.
The presentation lunch for the hoof and hook competition was held at the Sundowner Hotel, Haigslea on Sunday. Glen had a fantastic time presenting the awards. Congratulations to the beef carcase winners!
